Vermont Quilts

Collage
2014

The patchwork technique is ubiquitous in Vermont in the form of quilts. Transferred to paper, I made quilts in the three colors of the landscape: the green of the forests, the blue of Lake Champlains and the red of the leaves during the “Indian Summers”. The top and bottom are framed by maps of Lake Champlains and the mountainous Mad River Valley. In between there are copies of newspaper clippings from the “Valley Reporter” and photos from the trip sorted by color.
